Laura Blakeman, Ph.D. is a highly creative and strategic thinker known for her capacity to build beautiful and engaging educational experiences. She spent the early part of her life working as a somatic educator, producing dance events, live art immersions, and land-based programs for women that centered marginalized ways of knowing, doing, and being. She now draws from her unique trans-disciplinary background in the performing arts and developmental psychology to design and deliver cutting-edge growth opportunities for leaders, entrepreneurs and social innovators from across the corporate and cultural sectors. Her colleagues and students particularly appreciate her ability to take a systems-approach, centering transformative learning as the core driver of change in all domains and at every scale. She blends nature-based, somatic, and cognitive modalities to better equip practitioners with the capabilities required to meet complex challenges.

Laura is a co-founder and creative partner at the Wolf Willow Institute where she joins a diverse network of skilled educators, innovators and facilitators who engage in program design and delivery at a post-graduate level, and participatory research that enquires into the future of education. She is a guide and member of the executive leadership team for The Animas Valley Institute.

Laura stewards 40-acres of stunning canyon land in southwest Colorado, serves on the board of Battle Rock Charter School, and volunteers with the Montezuma County Search and Rescue unit. When she is not writing, guiding, or leading, she can be found caught up in beauty: painting, growing food, playing music, tending orchards, tinkering with renovation projects and interior design, changing the oil on the John Deere, riding horses, or doing what she can to restore and protect local habitat.
